My name is Marta Gorolova. I come from a little village Sol. I have four children and a husband Janko who also dedicates his time to pastoration of Roma people. Since my childhood I have believed that God exists. One day he connected with me directly and since then I have dedicated my life to him completely. I entered the communion, I began to study God’s word, I attended various presentations and spiritual events. I begun to change and so did my family. I longed for one more thing – to serve others.
It all began when I managed kids in scout groups and stated to organise events for women and the whole society. That is why I began to study Greek-Catholic theology, subject ‘Animation of spare-time activities’ in a faculty of Presov university. After some time my husband and I joined a mission with Salezians in Ostrava for 2 years. We set up associations for adults, youth and children and a theatre-musical band. We also helped the priest with the First Holy Communions, marriage preparations and parental preparations for children’s baptisms.
Jesus says: “You have not chosen me but I have chosen you and I have appointed you to bring the ever lasting fruit; so that your Father will give you everything you will wish for in my name. I command you: Love each other.’ (John’s Evangelism 15,16). My vision is to bring Evangelism to people who don’t know God and to serve families and children. I believe that Romani children will see a good example in their own parents serving our God. I believe that Romani families will pray together, read God’s words together and lead a true Christian life.
